Reasons:
This is a very competitive class.  Not being able to feel the Dairy Character or see the ribbing, leaves you with just the Dairy Character that you can see.

A very stylish doe standing in first place, is exhibiting Dairy Character in the length of neck, in curving thigh. Her width carries from the width in the brisket to the width in the hock, Very strong top line that starts with the smooth blending
from the neck into the withers to the pin bones That is carrying her over the doe in second place, a very close placing.

Two is over Three in her turn for the Dairy Character you can see in the length of her neck, smooth blending from the neck
into the brisket, and shoulders, and the  width in the hocks, she is yielding length of body to the doe in third.

The side view photo of our third place doe isn't showing the length of body, that you see in the over head view, it's this length and depth of body that is carried back into the flank that is taking the doe in Third over the doe standing Forth.

The does in Fifth and Sixth are both smooth powerful does that I would love to have been able to determine their ribs and skin texture to be able to move them up in the class, Five is over Six showing a little more angularity and sharpness of the withers.

It's the strength you see in Six placing her over a doe in Seventh

Seventh is standing on very strong feet and legs, just not the length of body to move her up in the class today.
