Ring 2 - Chris Strickland
| Comparing these four first place AOM does for
grand champion brings a lot of trade offs. In general I would like
to see the udders help higher into the escutcheon than we see in
most of these does. The yearling is not as competitive as the older
does because they excel in strength of bone. Of the remaining 3 does
the one that carries the most correctly positioned mammary system
and the strongest attached udder is the 4 year old and she will be
Grand Champion and Best Udder of the AOM show. There was no animal
in the class second to her. Comparing the aged doe with the 2 year
old brings me to select the aged doe for reserve grand Champion AOM.
She excels the 2 year old in capacity both of body and udder as well
as excelling in dairy character. |

| The 4 yr old milker will be the senior champion. She excels the
yearling milker in the capacity and attachment of her mammary
system. She excels the 2 yr old milker in her width through the
chest floor and straightness of her front legs. She excels the 6 yr
old milker in the balance and area of attachment of her mammary
system. The 4 yr old will be best udder for her balance and more
correct shape and placement of teats. |
