Ring 2 - Chris Strickland

This is the competition for junior champion of the MiniMancha breed. This is a close placing as both of these does are extremely correct in general appearance and for their ages both show excellent body capacity with the depth at the point of elbow. The senior yearling excels the intermediate kid in strength of fore leg being straighter in side profile but in turn yields to the more correct breed character of the intermediate kid. Both does show correct dairyness with the intermediate kid freer from excess fleshing which we might forgive to some extent in the senior yearling. The scorecard clearly weights the comparison here to legs, pasterns and feet when compared to head and breed characteristics – a 23 to 10 point comparison. Therefore for the more correct strength of front legs, the senior yearling will be grand champion junior MiniMancha.

While the 2nd place senior yearling shows the same kind of width and body capacity as the 1st place senior yearling and a straighter fore leg in side profile she is also not as correct in front legs when viewed from the front. The advantages in dairy character now are sufficient to bring the intermediate doe kid into the reserve junior championship.
